The LG Ray (Pre-Order Available.. Hurry!!!) will become available shortly in January 2016. It served as a mid segment device, and is called as the “best in class features” by the company. The device will be able available in Titan Black, Silver and Gold Color variants.
Design & Display
The LG Ray boasts of a metal body, with curved edges. The camera can be found in the top middle, equipped with an LED flash. The LG logo sits in the middle of the back, with the speakers present at the bottom. There are no hardware or physical buttons present on the device, and the device can be operated through on-screen buttons. The device’s measurements are 152.5 x 76.4 x 9.3 mm, with a weight of 158g.
The screen size of the device is 5.5 Inches, and has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, making it a HD screen, with a pixel per inch density of 267. An IPS LCD type of display is used in the phone’s screen, and will more likely come with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The screen will likely appear sharp with its ppi close to 270. The viewing angles are also expected to be decent from all angles.
Software and Hardware
The LG Ray runs on the Android operating system, along with its own UI skinned on top of it. The device’s premium hardware paired up along with the latest Android OS is able to deliver a lag-free experience. The device is also expected to get the latest Android updates as soon as they are made public.
The phone will be running on the Android Lollipop v5.1 Operating system, and it is yet not announced whether it will be upgraded to Marshmallow or not. The device will come powered with a Mediatek MT6592M chipset, with the processor being Octa-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A7. The graphical processing unit will be powered by an Mali-450MP4 chipset.
The device becomes available only in one storage variant. The LG Ray will have an optional MicroSD slot for expanding the storage for storing media such as audio and video, but the dual-SIM slot must be sacrificed in doing so. The unlocked cellphone will come packed 1 GB of RAM, which can help people multi-task without experiencing any shutters or lag.
The unlocked cellphone will be having 16 GB of internal storage for installing applications, and storing any additional data, such as media files or documents.
The LG Ray will come with a 13 Megapixel rear-facing camera. The camera is equipped with an LED flash, and autofocus capabilities. It will also be able record HD videos of 1080p at 30 fps. An 8 MP front-facing camera will also be available in the device capable of recording decent quality videos and clicking selfies.
The unlocked cellphone will be supporting a Li-ion 3000 mAh battery, which will most likely be able to offer a battery backup of one day with moderate usage. Quick charging support may also be seen, but it is highly unlikely as of now.
