Recently, Motorola announced three new models to succeed the Moto X, which was released last year. Out of the lot, The Moto X Style stands out to be the most dominating device, and packs some great features. It is worthy to be called a premium device, with high-end specifications, and a great user experience it offers.
Design and Display
There is no significant huge change in the design language of the phone, in fact, it adopts almost the same design as its predecessor. With the trend they have set with this series, it is quite good to see Motorola sticking to it. Nevertheless, the Motorola X Style feels stylish and premium with the metal trim border, and the curved rear casing.
The screen size of the device is 5.7 Inches, and has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, making it a Quad-HD screen, with a pixel per inch density of 520. With the screen’s resolution and ppi, the screen is bound to appear sharper and vibrant. It is real easy to read text, and colors appear bright, with the viewing angles being great.
Software and Hardware
The Motorola X Style offers a near-pure android experience to their users. This does not mean Motorola has not tweaked the software, but one can barely notice anything. Unlike the over-optimized software of the same Android version, the pure android offers a fresh feel to the user, and it feels really light while using it.
The phone runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 Operating system, and is powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, with the processor being Dual-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A57 & quad-core 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53.
As the device comes in three different storage variants, it gives the people a freedom of choice. People can buy one, which falls in their budget, and as the device supports expandable memory, the storage is never an issue in the device. Being packed with a good amount of RAM, multi-tasking also becomes a lot smoother.
The unlocked cellphone comes in three storage variants, which are 16/32/64 GB for installing applications. 3 GB of RAM is provided for running applications and multi-tasking between them, and the memory can be expanded up to 128 GB via the use of an external SD card.
The Motorola X Style is packed with a 21 Megapixel rear-facing camera, capable of clicking photographs of resolution 5248 x 3936 pixels. The camera is equipped with dual LED, and autofocus capabilities. It can also record videos of 2160p at 30 Frames per second and 1080p at 60 frames per second. A secondary 5 Megapixel front-facing camera is also included in the device, and it is also equipped with a flash. Both the cameras are capable of clicking high-quality shots, and the shutter speed is quite good.
The phone supports a 3000 mAh non-removable battery, which can last an entire day with moderate amount of usage. Along with an optimized UI, and the latest Android’s battery saving capabilities, the phone is able to provide a decent standby time.
