The Samsung Galaxy A9 (Available for pre order) was released in 2016 in January. It served as the successor to the previously released Samsung Galaxy A8, which offered mixed high-end and mid-end specs to the users. Samsung Galaxy A9 brings in mid as well as high-end specs to the users, by introducing a similar premium design and a fingerprint scanner.
Design & Display
The Samsung Galaxy A9 is likely to resemble its predecessor in terms of design. It will most likely consist of a fingerprint scanner and Samsung Pay. The device’s measurements will reportedly be 161.7 x 80.9 x 7.4 mm, with a weight of 200g.
The screen size of the device is 6.0 Inches, and has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, making it a quad-HD screen, with a pixel per inch density of 367. A Super AMOLED type of display is used in the phone’s screen, with the Corning Gorilla Glass 4 panel resting on the display. The screen appears sharp and crisp, thanks to the Super AMOLED display. The viewing angles are also decent from all angles.
Software and Hardware
The Samsung Galaxy A9 runs on the Android operating system, along with its own UI skinned on top of it. The device’s premium hardware paired up along with the latest Android OS is able to deliver a lag-free experience. The device will be getting the latest Android updates as soon as they are made public.
The phone will be running on the Android Lollipop v5.1.1 Operating system, with a planned upgrade to Android Marshmallow v6.0 and will come powered with a Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 652 chipset, with the processor being Quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 & quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53. The graphical processing unit will either be powered by an Adreno 510 chipset.
The device becomes available only in one storage variant. The Samsung Galaxy A9 will have an optional MicroSD slot for expanding the storage up to 128 GB for storing media such as audio and video, but the dual-SIM slot must be sacrificed in doing so. The unlocked cellphone will come packed with a high size of RAM, which can help people multi-task without experiencing any shutters or lag.
The unlocked cellphone will be having 32 GB of internal storage for installing applications. 3 GB of RAM will be provided for running applications and multi-tasking between them.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 will come with a 13 Megapixel rear-facing camera, with an f/1.9 aperture. The camera is equipped with a LED flash, and autofocus capabilities. It will also be able record HD videos of 1080p at 30 fps. An 8 MP front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture will also be available in the device capable of recording video of 1080p at 30 fps.
The unlocked cellphone will be supporting a non-removable 4000 mAh battery, which will most likely be able to offer a battery backup of one day with moderate usage. Quick Charging technology will be supported in the device, so that the device is able to charge faster.
