Samsung is reportedly working on a new, improved version of its latest and flagship phone, the Galaxy Edge S6. The new phone is rumored to be called Samsung Galaxy Edge S6 Plus. The phone is expected to contain minor to major improvements, and several upgrades.
The Samsung Galaxy Edge S6 Plus is expected to be announced in the Late July or Early August. However, it is more likely to be unveiled and released in the month of September, at or before the IFA event, like some other models of Samsung.
Various rumors have surfaced on the internet, which states that the phone may see a screen upgrade to 5.7 inch. The Curved edges will remain intact, along with same speaker setup and the fingerprint sensor, however, the overall size of the phone may increase. There may also be some tweaks done to the overall design of the phone. The dimensions of the phone are expected to be 154.45 x 75.80 x 6.85mm, with the phone supporting a UBS Type-C port.
The device is rumored to contain a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset with Hexa-Core for the maximum power. Although, the company may also use one of their own chipset, as the Snapdragon 801 in the original Galaxy S6 caused overheating issues. Nevertheless, it can be safely assumed that the users will not experience such cases with this device, as the company will surely take a step forward to get rid of any issues beforehand.
The phone will feature a screen ranging from 5.5 Inches to 5.7 Inches, making it the biggest flagship model of Samsung. The device is expected to get an HD AMOLED display with a higher ppi (pixel per inch) density so that the colors appear sharper, and the overall display will get brighter.
The phone is expected to have 32 GB of internal storage, if not more. Just like the original S6, the phone will not contain any slot for MicroSD card eliminating all chances of increasing the storage. The phone may feature 3 GB of RAM, however, they may upgrade to 4 GB seeing how many of the new flagships model are getting it.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will more likely feature a 16 Megapixel rear-facing camera, just like its predecessor. We may see an improved sensor, or a few tweaks for better quality of pictures. The phone is expected to give out more sharper, and clear images than the S6 Edge. A 5 Megapixel front-facing camera will be present in the phone to click Selfies. Both the cameras will be able to record HD videos.
The device will be packed with a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery or more for a longer running time. Samsung may also feature an improved ultra-power saving mode, so the phone could last more.
The price of the device will probably be the same as the current flagship model of Samsung. However, as seeing that the device will feature more powerful features, and specs, the price may also go up.
