The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra is to be released in the month of August in 2015. It will be released in order to further increase the C series of the company, and provide a premium experience to the users. The phone focuses on its selfie capability, and is expected to offer a great front-facing camera. The phone will be released along with the Sony Xperia M5.

Design & Display

The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra is likely to follow the usual Design language of the Xperia series. It is more likely to feature a design similar to the one found on the C4. The unlocked cellphone’s dimensions will be 164.2 x 79.6 x 8.2 mm, with a weight of 187 grams.

The screen size of the device is 6.0 Inches, and has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, making it full-HD screen, with a pixel per inch density of 367. The screen utilizes the Bravia technology, which is found in the company’s LED TVs. Due to this, the colors of the device are enhanced and they appear much brighter. The viewing angles of the phone are expected to be decent.

Software and Hardware

The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra will run the Android operating system, along with its own UI skinned on top of it. The device’s hardware paired up along with the latest Android OS will be able to deliver a lag-free experience.

The phone runs on Android Jellybean 5.0 Operating system, and is powered with a Mediatek MT6752 chipset, with the processor being Octa-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53. The graphical processing unit is being powered by Mali-T760MP2 chipset.


The device comes with sufficient amount of storage for installing applications. The phone also supports external MicroSD card to further expand the memory of the device in order to store media such as audio, video etc. The unlocked cellphone is also packed with a high size RAM, which can help people multi-task without experiencing any shutters or lag.

The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra is packed with a 13 Megapixel rear-facing camera, capable of clicking photographs of resolution 3264 x 2448 pixels. The camera is equipped with LED flash, and autofocus capabilities. It can also record videos of 1080p at 30 frames per second. A secondary front-facing 13 MP camera is also included in the device, which is equipped with flash. Both the cameras are capable of clicking decent shots, and the shutter speed is quite good. Both the cameras use wide-angle sensors, so that more people can fit into one photograph. The other features of the cameras include video stabilizer, 4x digital zoom, auto-scene recognition, 80 degree field of view with the help of wide angle sensor, full HD recording, red-eye reductions and image stabilizer.


Despite being a big device, the unlocked cellphone supports a 2930 non-removable mAh battery, which Sony claims can last 2 days with moderate amount of usage. Along with an optimized UI, and the latest Android’s battery saving capabilities, the phone is able to provide a decent standby time.
